Knowledge Management Workshop.
Cathy Blackman related how there was confusion this fall
about the workshop location, and the group decided that the Best
Western in Tulsa wouldn’t work. We decided to contact NSU at
Broken Arrow as our first choice location. Second choice will be
OSU-Tulsa, and TCC-West as a 3rd choice location. We also
altered the workshop flyer using a laptop and rewrote the
workshop planning form. The flyer will be sent to OLA, SLA,
GOAL, OSHLA, Okla.-ACRL, OCALD, and the Public Library
Directors’ listservs. Melissa offered to finish up the flyer.
The group then planned a budget, with estimates for lunch,
speaker’s gift, printing, postage, and refreshments. The planned
workshop agenda is:
9:30-10:00 – Registration
10:00-10:45 – Introduction to Knowledge Management
10:45-11:00 – Break
11:00-12:00 – Case studies & Group discussion
12:00-1:00 – Lunch
1:00-1:45 – Applications of Knowledge Management to Libraries
1:45-2:00 – Break
2:00-2:45 – Case studies & group discussion
2:45-3:00 – Break
3:00-4:00 – Conclusion & Evaluations
Kay Boies suggested that it is useful to send the list of
registrants to all of the participants so that they can share
rides or possibly room together.
Poster sessions.
The poster sessions will be conducted in a single case study
room with five classroom tables. The room will remain open
except at night. The session will be held at 1:15-2:15 on
Thursday. Presenters can bring their posters in the morning, set
them up, and leave them all day.
Paper sessions.
The group decided there were too many paper proposals for the
2 sessions on the conference schedule, so a committee was formed
to review and pick 5 papers to be presented. The review
committee will include Melissa, Cokie, and Christina.
Buried Treasures.
The sessions are all arranged. David volunteered to moderate
the sessions again this year.
Federated Searching.
Cathy will ask Evlyn to moderate the session on federated
searching techniques.
Next meeting.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, Jan.11th at 1:00. It
will be a videoconference. Christina will contact Tom at Rose
State to set up for TU. We will also put the address on the web
page.
