Business Meeting - March 11, 2003 - Rose State College
In Attendance : Cathy Blackman, Cameron
(Secretary); Melissa Huffman, Rose State (Chair); David
Oberhelman, OSU (Vice Chair); Carolyn Warmann, OSU The
meeting was called to order by Melissa at 1:25 pm. I. Conference
Plans
Pre-conference - Barbara King has agreed to participate
on the panel. Carolyn will meet Annie at the convention center
around 11 am to help her get set up and to take her to lunch.
Buried Treasures - Melissa has contacted Brad Robinson
about bring visual aids for his presentation. She will contact
Christi Ballard and Marilyn Ogilvie this week.
Marketing Your Library - Carolyn will contact Bonnie
Richardson to clarify the information that we want her to cover
in her presentation.
Basket - David will bring a teddy bear and Carolyn will
bring homemade bread to include in the basket. Other ideas of
items to include are: a jelly dish and gift certificate for
butter.
II. Workshop updates
David is the chair for this workshop. Rose State Community
College would like to sponsor one day of the workshop at the Tom
Steed Center. In return, they would like 50 reserved seats. If
other libraries would like to sponsor the other day, perhaps
they could also reserve seats. Rose State is also willing to do
the printing for the workshop. We need to advertise this
workshop to out-of-state groups; MPLA would be one advertising
outlet. Carolyn will send a formal letter to OCALD to ask if
they would like to co-sponsor the workshop. The next meeting
will be held in conjunction with other groups that want to
co-sponsor the workshop (GORDORT and PLD have shown interest).
Melissa will contact Ms. Gassaway about arrangements/timelines
for the trip and workshops. Tentative pricing for the workshop:
$60 for OLA members and $120 for non-OLA members. If we decide
to have the workshop this fall, the paperwork must be in by the
May Board meeting.
