Approval of Minutes

Minutes of Oct. 7 meeting were approved.

Report of OLA Executive Board Meeting held on October 16.

OLA Finances are in good shape.
An Audit Committee was formed and all records are complete.
As of October, membership at 780 members, more than last October. Conference Planning in progressing. Committee is working on room assignments.
OLA Budget will be finalized by November. Budget requests are due soon.

Committee Reports

 

Conference Planning Committee - Report given by Jon Woltz.

UCD will be assisting with the pre-conference on HTML authoring. One morning session and if demand an afternoon session will also be held on the Wednesday preceding the annual conference.
Friday from 3-4 is the UCD session of professional development/job skills.
We would like to hold a table talk on Thursday morning if possible. These begin at 7:45 am. If you have a topic and are interested, please contact Jon soon.

 

Workshop Planning Committee - Report by Christy Ryan.

Are working on lining up 6-7 speakers. Topic is Tools for managing and accessing Internet Resources. The title has been approved. The committee is still working on a site and a date in late April.

 

Electronic Communication Committee - Report by Jon Woltz.

Jon sent a reminder about the meeting to members of the list. The web site is running.

 

Electronic Communications Services Committee

Electronic Communications. No report, but Jon said he would send email to UCD members not on the list serv to sign up for the list.

 

Nominating Committee - Report by Jon.

Deadline is December 1. Open positions are Vice-Chair/Chair Elect, and Secretary. Send either Jon, Donna Schwarz or Charles Brooks intent if you are interested in either of these positions.

OK/ACRL News

Currently there is no formal arrangement for cooperation. Jon will attend meetings with an eye to some future cooperation.

New Business

No December meeting. David Scott agreed to line up some interactive video sites for the January meeting. Thus no date was set for the January meeting. Watch for further information. He will try to find 4-6 sites throughout the state that do not charge for this service. Weatherford will be the originating site.
