OLA/UCD MEETING
Wednesday, October 22, 1997, 1:00 p.m.
Norman Public Library

Members present: Charles Brooks, Chair, Dottie Davis, Secretary, Kay Boies, OLA Executive Director, Susan Wright, OLA President, Debra Engel, OLA President-Elect, Ernest Lane, Richard Page, Dana Tuley-Williams, Marla Roberson, Judy Wilkerson, Kay Womack, Nedria Santizo, Laura Bottoms, Linda Fidler, Colleen Ward, Jon Sparks and Mark Herring.

The meeting was called to order by Charles Brooks at 1:10 p.m.
Introduction were made of all present and the agenda followed.

Report from OLA Executive Board

Charles Brooks gave the OLA financial and membership report and encouraged UCD to help in recruiting new members.

Program Planning Committee

Judy Wilkerson gave the report from the Program Planning Committee. The OLA/UCD conference program will be April 30, 1998 from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. in the Woodward Room. Conference speakers will be Clifton Taulbert, Tulsa author, and Mike Wallis.

WWW Committee

Charles Brooks gave the report in the absence of Helen Hill. Members of the committee suggest the web page contains the following: Officer, Bylaws/Handbook, Benefits of membership, planned conferences and workshops, Resolutions passed by our division, possibly minutes of meetings.

Nominating Committee

The committee reported that there is a full slate of candidates for the present vacancy and three candidates for all positions in the Spring.

Salary Survey

Judy Wilkerson reported that most of the surveys have been returned and the committee is in the calculation process. She submitted a preliminary report.

Ad Hoc Committee of OK/ACRL and OLA/UCD

Laura Bottoms and Dottie Davis gave the report and submitted the recommendations.

Other Business

Judy Wilkerson reported on the status of the CSU Library. CSU can now receive materials and is partially operational. Call Judy if you have questions on giving materials or interlibrary loan.

New Business

Debra Engel gave the report on the OLA Long Range Plan. She asked the group for ideas on fund raising and membership recruitment. If you have ideas let Debra or others on the OLA Executive Board know. The 1999 conference will be held in Enid.
