Workshop Planning Committee

No report (Tom will contact Sheila Grant Johnson)

 

Salary Survey Committee

The salary survey was sent to 56 people. So far 8 were returned. The committee will send out a reminder (committee has upcoming deadline).

 

Electronic Communications Services Committee

The web page is up and operational and it is linked to the OLA homepage. The web page includes minutes, resolutions, by-laws, links to home pages, hours that we will meet in Sept. & October and links to ALA and ACRL. Kudos to Charles for doing a great job.

 

Nominating Committee

No report (committee has upcoming deadline)

 

Conference Planning Committee

John Rosenhamer had talked to Andrew Peters about either a pre or post conference session on web page authoring (probably HTML). The division could co-sponsor this workshop with the automation committee and the Library Education Division. One of the poster sessions could be on bibliographic instruction (sponsored by the Library Education Division and Oklahoma Bibliographic Instruction Council).

ACRL News

The workshop on distance learning on November 13 should be an excellent workshop. Tom Biggs will go to the September meeting of ACRL. Also it is hoped that in the future we could jointly sponsor a workshop between UCD and ACRL.

Special Committee on Video Conferencing

 

Special Committee on Video Conferencing

This committee would investigate the feasibility of video conferencing for our monthly meetings as well as other possible uses. Several members have e-mailed Tom Biggs that are familiar with and have an interest in this area. R.D. Bell and Julie Brooks were mentioned as possibilities for this fact-finding committee. Any other UCD members that are interested would be welcome on this committee.

 

Special Committee on Cooperation with OK-ACRL

No committee but Tom Biggs will attend the OK-ACRL meetings and report back to the committee

Future UCD Meetings

October 7 meeting at 1:00 at Southwestern State University Library in Weatherford

November 4 meeting at 1:00 at University of Tulsa McFarlin Library in Tulsa
