Session Description:
Two grant writers/reviewers will discuss sources for grant money and the process of preparing the grant proposal. They will emphasize what the granting agencies look for. We will also have several TLC and possibly other OLA grant recipients tell about their experiences.

Speakers: 
Julie MossJulie Moss has been writing grants for over 25 years. Her forte is in writing federal grants, however, she has in the past and currently writes quite a number of foundation grants. Currently, she is employed as the Federal Grants Specialist at Neighbors Building Neighborhoods, Non Profit Resource Center in Muskogee, OK. She is also an adjunct Instructor at the College of the Muscogee Nation where she has taught an introductory grant writing course for over ten years. She holds an M.A. in Rural Community Development from Antioch University in Yellow springs, Ohio. Some of her previous positions include serving as the Tribal Planner/Grant Writer for the Muscogee Creek Nation for nine years. In this position, she not only wrote grants but was also responsible for doing all electronic grant submissions for every department in the tribe. And she was responsible for setting up and keeping track of all electronic grant accounts for the tribe, such as Sam.gov, grants.gov and all federal accounts. There she did Tribal Planning duties including serving as Chair of the Master Planning Committee and was a member of the Tribe’s Green Team. Other former positions include serving as the Grant Writer then the Federal Programs Director for the UKB Cherokee Tribe then later as their elected Treasurer. She also at one time served as the Deputy Director then the Planning Director for the Cherokee Nation.

Bambi VogeleBambi Vogele, language teacher and grant reviewer. She is a OK Certified Librarian with a focus on Native languages and Instructional design. Vogele also has a wide background in media, technology and their applications. She has been a grant reviewer and grant writer for years, and has taught grant writing.
