Speakers:
Gail CurrierGail Currier: I have worked for the Southern Oklahoma Library System since 2011 and serve as the system’s Marketing and Public Information Coordinator.  Since joining SOLS, I have implemented an outreach curriculum in schools across Southern Oklahoma increasing usage with our databases; particularly Brainfuse. The programming has expanded to include 3D printing and other training that fosters learning and engages children in library usage.  From fundraisers to grant writing, I have had the opportunity to undertake many different jobs within the library profession.  Very recently I was involved in a year-long process of renaming and rebranding the library system.  Serving five counties and 8 libraries, I am a  one person PR department who enjoys promoting library programming and activities, writing press releases and feature articles, designing print media and operating as a positive voice for all of our library communities.

Alyson HayesHi everyone! My name is Alyson Hayes. I have worked in the Southern Oklahoma Library System (formerly the Chickasaw Regional (Public) Library System) since June of 2009. I started out as the Branch Manager of the Davis Public Library. In 2011 I transferred to Ardmore and was Head of Circulation/Publicity Coordinator for the System. For the past five years I have been the Branch/Outreach Coordinator for the system. In this position, I supervise our seven branch libraries and also promote the library through programs and outreach in our libraries and communities. I love this position because my job allows me to travel and interact with patrons in all eight of our communities.
In my time at the library, I have coordinated hundreds of programs for all demographics. I have planned plenty of successful, popular programs on a shoestring budget. I have also done the publicity for some of these programs. The programming in our library system consists of everything from makerspaces to crafting classes and everything in between.
I attended the University of Oklahoma and received a BA in Journalism/Public Relations in 2008 and I received my MS in Human Resource Administration from East Central University in 2012.
