Fun, interactive discussion groups intended to stimulate conversation and allow
discussion among all of those attending. Participants are encouraged to enjoy
visiting with all those attending while participating in informal discussions
centered on topics of current interest to our profession, sharing ideas,
concerns, and best practices. Speakers will answer questions. Pick up lunch to
go from the Decco Restaurant, Tiffany Rose Pasta Bar or Starbucks.

Come meet Dayna Dunbar, author of The Saints and Sinners of Okay County, the 2006 Oklahoma Reads Oklahoma book. Dayna will share her inspiration for the story as well as discuss the book with the audience. She will also be sharing her new book, a sequel to Saints and Sinners. One Book-One Conference (Thursday) and One Book-One Conference (Friday) are duplicate sessions.

MPLA President-elect Wayne Hanway and David Oberhelman, OLA's state representative to MPLA, will answer any and all questions about MPLA, especially the new structure with its exciting electronic communities, and will give tips on getting involved and getting the most out of the MPLA experience.
Wayne Hanway is Vice President/President-Elect of MPLA and was the OLA state representative on the MPLA Executive Board from 2003 to October 2005. An MPLA member since 1982, Wayne has found MPLA to be a warm and friendly community like OLA, just on a larger scale, and a great way to develop professionally and get to know other librarians. Wayne was President of OLA in 2001 - 2002 and has been Executive Director of the Southeastern Public Library System of Oklahoma since 1991.

The "King & King" dilemma refers to the problem of where to shelve "controversial" children's books. If we shelve them in the children's area, where they are most likely to reach the audience for which they are intended, are we risking the kind of reaction that occurred at the OKC Metropolitan Library System in 2005? What is our duty in reconciling our professional ethics with today's prevailing political climate?
