Oral History Project: Listen... Librarians and Library Legends Share Their Stories

Sponsor: Centennial Ad Hoc Committee

Come share your OLA stories and help make history! Individuals can arrange a time to record a session or if the room is not being used, drop-ins can be accommodated. There will be an interview guide and an interviewer available. Interviews may last from 30 minutes up to 2 hours. To schedule a time to share, please contact Tanya Finchum by phone at (405)744-7942 or by email at tanya.finchum@okstate.edu.

Of interest to conference attendees who have stories to share as part of OLA's Centennial Celebration

Résumé Review Service

Sponsor: Membership Committee

If you are seeking a new job or your first professional job, would you like to have your résumé reviewed by the person who does the hiring? If you are not seeking a new job, would you like to know that your résumé is the best it can be -- just in case? Register for the Résumé Review Service and have your résumé reviewed, critiqued, and improved by a practicing librarian who hires library staff. Find out what information she wants, what is irrelevant, and whether your résumé has impact. You may also have your cover letter reviewed. This service is free, but you must pre-register. To pre-register, please contact Melissa Weathers by email at mweathers@metrolibrary.org not later than March 16.

Of interest to all.

Library Centennial Collage Project

Sponsor: Centennial Ad Hoc Committee

The Library Centennial Collage Project is a way for all of the libraries in Oklahoma to celebrate their own individual history in an art format. Each library is requested to create a collage that reflects the history of their library or some aspect of the library. The collages will then be displayed at the 2007 OLA Conference.

Of interest to all.

Chair Massages

Sponsor: SMART

Take a break and relax with a soothing chair massage. Massages will be available on Tuesday from 10:30-4:00 and on Wednesday from 9:30-3:30 and cost $1 per minute.

Of interest to all.

Exhibits

Come to the exhibit hall on Tuesday and Wednesday morning and enjoy a complimentary breakfast with the vendors. Come to the exhibit hall during no-conflict times to see products, visit with vendors, make purchases, or set appointments. You may not be the person from your library who makes purchases, but you do need to identify good products to recommend to your library.

Of interest to all.
