1975 |
Arkoma’s
first library opens to the public in February. The library is
housed in a 40 year old building. |
| 1987
|
Groundbreaking
for the future new library building in August. |
| 1988 |
The library
gets their first copier in May. |
| 1990 |
New library
opens for business in January. In October the library receives
a new computer through a grant from the Oklahoma Department
of Libraries, and in December receives its first fax machine
through an ODL grant. |
| 1997 |
An increase
in the ad valorem tax to 4 mills is approved by Arkoma voters
in March. In June the library implements a summer reading outreach
program in the Pocola area. In September the library gains access
to the internet. |
| 1998 |
In January
the library expands the hours it is open for business. |
