A
committee of women from the Presbyterian Church started a drive
for a
public library. On February 24th the Elk City Library Association
was organized with Mrs. John Scott as president. 250 books were
donated, and business men helped with monthly subscriptions
to pay the expenses. A room was rented in the back of a bank
building. Miss Goldie Nolan was the first librarian. |
