| 1996 |
In
August 2 additional mills are passed in Cherokee County. The
library
opens to the public.
In October an open house is held. |
| 1997 |
In
January story hour for preschool children begins and the Dynix
system
is upgraded.
In May a CPR class is offered for the public.
In June the Dynix system is again upgraded, and the first summer
reading
program begins.
In July the new budget shows the increase from the 4 mills now
collected
in Cherokee County.
In September a computer for office use is received, and in October
internet access is offered for the public. |

In June
second summer reading program begins.
In July the library develops a web page, begins an audio book
collection,
and adds a third staff member.
In September the second public computer is installed.
In October a contest on local history is initiated, and the
first “Let’s Talk
About It Oklahoma” program is offered. |
| 1999 |
In March
additional shelving is installed.
In April new office furniture is purchased, and meeting room
facilities are
expanded to the Senior Citizen’s building next door. Discussion
begins
on the possibility of a larger library building. |
