Delaware
County library was the first six county library opened after
a
successful two mil levy voted by the county’s voters. |
| 1978 |
Moved to
new library building. The funding was a joint effort through
the
Local Public Works Act of Congress, NECO, Cherokee Nation and
the local government. |

Friends
of the Library held their organizational meeting. |
| 1985 |
The library
acquired a meeting room. |
| 1986 |
Open House
to celebrate the Library’s 15th Anniversary. |
| 1989 |
Library
acquired a fax machine through ODL. |
| 1990 |
Personal
computers were made available for public use. |
| 1991 |
First year
of the Library’s Five Year Long Range Plan. |
| 1992 |
Library
was automated by way of Dynix. |
| 1993 |
Friends
group purchased furniture for the library. |
| 1997 |
Library
staff started state certification classes. Acquisition program
purchased so book orders could be done electronically. The internet
is obtained for staff training. |
