| 1991 |
Several
in the community began discussing the need for a library in
Kellyville. A friends group was organized and books were donated.
The town allowed the library to use a portion of City Hall. |
| 1992 |
Shelves
were built and donated, then books were cataloged and shelved.
Library board was appointed and policies were made. A librarian
was hired and the library opened on June 1st. An open house
was held, and the first summer reading program was held with
an average of 23 children attending each event. |
| 1993 |
Library
received grants from ODL for a computer, printer, monitor, fax
and copier. |
| 1994 |
Library
received a $4,000 children’s books grant from ODL. New
books
were purchased and shelved. |
| 1995 |
A book
drop was purchased by the Friends of the Library. We began
using interlibrary loan. |
| 1996 |
The library
received a grant to upgrade the computer for internet. We are
now connected to the internet! The certification program began
so the librarian will be a certified librarian. The Friends
have purchased property for a new library. |
| 1997 |
The library
has outgrown the area it was in. Friends of the Library have
now paid for the property they purchased. The Summer Reading
Program averaged 68 this year. |
