1991

Several in the community began discussing the need for a library in
Kellyville. A friends group was organized and books were donated. The town allowed the library to use a portion of City Hall.
1992 Shelves were built and donated, then books were cataloged and shelved.
Library board was appointed and policies were made. A librarian was hired and the library opened on June 1st. An open house was held, and the first summer reading program was held with an average of 23 children attending each event.
1993 Library received grants from ODL for a computer, printer, monitor, fax and copier.
1994 Library received a $4,000 children’s books grant from ODL. New books
were purchased and shelved.
1995 A book drop was purchased by the Friends of the Library. We began
using interlibrary loan.
1996 The library received a grant to upgrade the computer for internet. We are
now connected to the internet! The certification program began so the librarian will be a certified librarian. The Friends have purchased property for a new library.
1997 The library has outgrown the area it was in. Friends of the Library have
now paid for the property they purchased. The Summer Reading Program averaged 68 this year.
