Examines on a regular basis the financial records of OLA and any other funds using the OLA federal tax identification number.
Reviews and considers all requests for any honors, awards, and citations offered by any division, roundtable or committee on behalf of OLA.
Prepares the budget for the fiscal year and studies the finances of the assocation to make recommendations to the executive board.
Develops activities and projects to further recruitment and retention in the library profession.
Manages the internal communications of OLA and oversees the various channels of communication utilized by OLA.
Prepares any revisions of the Constitutions and Bylaws as the Executive Board and President may direct and recommends amendments or changes deemed necessary. Revises the OLA Handbook.
Encourages the development of and participation in continuing education programs for the membership of OLA.
Oversees the operation of OLA's Endowment Fund and promotes donations and creates activities to raise money for the fund.
Endeavors to increase the awareness of ethical practices for members of OLA.
Stands ready to protect the freedom of individuals to make their choice of library materials and to bring restrictions in this area to the attention of the Executive Board.
Inspires and develops future leaders for the Oklahoma library community by planning and presenting library leadership institutes.
Coordinates OLA's legislative involvement, promptly communicates with the officers and membership about state or federal legislation concerning Oklahoma libraries, and encourages understanding and involvement of members in the legislative process.
Plans the logistics of the Annual conference including the registration, meal functions, and audio-visual and room set-up.
Develops and administers a marketing plan to promote libraries, library services, and the profession of librarianship within the state of Oklahoma.
Carries out statewide promotional activities to encourage membership in OLA.
Plans, coordinates, and executes the Mildred Laughlin Festival of Books biennially.
Selects a slate of candidates for office in accordances with the OLA bylaws.
This Committee shall formulate the presidential initiatives for the President-elect’s term of office in support of the Association’s long range plan.
Plans the programs for each general meeting of the association in accordances with the policies of the President and of the Executive Board.
Reviews and presents resolutions that the President and Executive Board may direct, or that any active individual member of the Association may request, for consideration by the Association membership at the Annual Conference.
Disseminates information about the OLA Scholarship for Graduate Study, seeks and screens applicants, and selectes a candidate to receive the designated stipend.
Responsible for the administration of the Sequoyah Book Awards in accordance with the Sequoyah Committee Handbook.
Recommends to the Executive Board sites for the annual conference of OLA at least four years in advance.
Promotes relationships among library personnel in all types of libraries and those who work in Tribal Libraries or archives.
Promotes greater communication between OLA and vendors.
