About the speakers:

Jackie Kropp is the Programs and Outreach Coordinator with Western Plains Library System.  She was with Pioneer Library System for 7 years previously.  She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with her M.L.I.S. and M.A. in the history of Science.  A very active member of OLA, she has served on the Continuing Education committee for four years, three as chair.  She is currently the chair of the Information Technology Roundtable and organized the highly successful iCon 2017.  She is an alumnae of the 2009 OLA Gold class.

Aaron Gray is the Adult Services Librarian at the Ponca City Library where she oversees the reference and circulation desks and staff, adult outreach, and adult programming. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma SLIS program.

Jessica Givens is a Library Associate in Information Services at the Southwest Oklahoma City branch of the Pioneer Library System.  She has worked in libraries for thirteen years, both academic and public, including access services, cataloging, and reference.  Prior to her current position, she was the director of the Robert A. Frost Memorial Library in Limestone, Maine, where she coordinated programs for both children and adults.  She graduated with her MLIS from UCLA in 2009.

Ashley Nixon-Amador is currently an Information Services Librarian at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library.  She graduated with her MLIS from OU in May 2014 and has worked for Pioneer Library System since 2015.  Ashley also serves as Teen and Friends of the Library Coordinator at her branch.

Alyson Hayes is currently working at the Southern Oklahoma Library System and has been with them for eight years.  In that time, she has been a Branch Manager, Circulation/Publicity Coordinator, and for the past six years she has been the Branch/Outreach Coordinator for the System.  She has a BA in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma and a MS in Human Resources Administration from East Central University.  As Branch/Outreach Coordinator she has the opportunity to supervise the System’s branch libraries; she also has the opportunity to do programming in several libraries and also out in each of the communities in their service area.

Gail Currier has worked for the Southern Oklahoma Library System since 2011 and serves as the system’s Marketing and Public Information Coordinator.  She has a B.S. in Journalism/PR & Advertising, and is currently working on my M.L.I.S. at the University of Oklahoma.  While serving five counties and eight libraries, she enjoys promoting library programming and activities by writing press releases, designing print media, and operating as a positive voice in all of their library communities.

All of these speakers either specialize in adult programming or do some level of adult programing at their libraries and has had substantial success in reaching the adult patrons in both metropolitan and rural  communities.
