On Thursday, October 30, 2008, the Mildred Laughlin Festival of Books for Young People returns!

Stillwater Public Library is the site for this all-day event of author and illustrator talks, book sales and book signings, professional networking, and display of the OU SLIS Preview Collection of new children’s and young adult books.

The Oklahoma Library Association (OLA) and the University of Oklahoma School of Library and Information Studies (OUSLIS), event co-sponsors are pleased to present these remarkable writers and illustrator in 2008:

Multi-award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson lives in Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Woodson’s picture books for children and novels for middle and high schoolers explore important life issues. She writes with great sensitivity and insight. For more information about Ms. Woodson and to see a complete list of her books, go to www.jacquelinewoodson.com.
Susan Campbell Bartoletti is a teacher and award-winning writer who lives in Pennsylvania. She is known for her illustrated histories filled with first-person accounts for teens, but she has also written a novel based on a true story for the same audience. For more information about Ms. Bartoletti, and to see a complete list of her books, go www.scbartoletti.com.
Eric Rohmann is an author and award-winning illustrator who lives in Chicago, IL. His art changes dramatically from book to book, but it is always beautiful and dramatic storytelling in pictures.
