If you know a legislator, or a U.S. Congressman in person, or even if you see
them only once in a while around town, please join the OLA network list. You
can make a difference because the best contact with an elected official is a
person from their home town constituency. They are generally known by the
description of “the folks back home”. The Legislative Committee of OLA makes
a request of all OLA members to assist the Oklahoma library community in this
vital way. We sometimes need to be able to contact elected officials when we
have a problem or an opportunity for support that you can help get it on their
radar.
These are the actions you can take right now to help:
- Volunteer, sign up, let us know who you are.
- Write a letter or note NOW to the person who won election in your
community or region. Offer congratulations and your help with issues and a
place to meet in your community (if that is possible under your library’s
rules). Become a friendly voice for your library.
This is the way you can do these two tasks.
- Enter your registration below, along with the legislator or
congressperson whom you will contact.
- You will need to provide information on how we are to get in touch with
you!
