OLA Scholarship Application for Graduate Study
Application Deadline: February 22, 2010
The Oklahoma Library Association (OLA) welcomes applications from current OLA members who are graduate students in library and information studies. The scholarship has been established to assist a graduate student to enter the library profession or to advance in the profession. The OLA Scholarship Committee reserves the right to give priority to first-time applicants or to previous applicants who were not awarded on OLA Scholarship for graduate study.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
1. Must be an Oklahoma Resident.
2. Must be a current member in good standing of the Oklahoma Library Association at the time of application.
3. Must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
4. Must have completed at least six hours in a formal course of graduate study that will result in either a library degree or certification from an accredited institution of higher education in Oklahoma, and must have at least one semester of graduate study remaining.
5. Must submit an official OLA Scholarship application and essay with statement of objectives.
6. Must submit transcripts to all undergraduate and graduate studies completed to date.
7. Must submit two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant's work. Letters should contain the reference's job title and contact information.

The deadline for applications and all related documents is February 22, 2010. A minimum of three awards of $500.00 each will be given. Winners will be notified on or before April 5, 2010. Awards will presented at the OLA/MPLA Joint Annual Conference April 19-21, 2010.
