"In library school and in our beginning jobs we were always encouraged to develop our library career expertise. But we have learned that leadership development near the beginning of new librarians
careers is critical. There will be expectations that these new folks will need to fast track into leadership positions to supplant those of us who will be retiring.
We need to be in the position to prepare them to assume these roles."
