Sequoyah High School Book Award

Sequoyah Award winning Author Jennifer Brown will accept her award, and talk about her book Hate List with High School Students.

Two-time winner of the Erma Bombeck Global Humor Award, Jennifer Brown wrote a weekly humor column for The Kansas City Star for over four years, until she gave it up to focus full-time on fiction writing. Jennifer's debut novel, Hate List, has received awards in Michigan, Missouri, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, and was chosen to represent the state of Missouri in the 2012 National Book Festival in Washington, DC. Jennifer's second book, Bitter End, was listed on the 2012 YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults list and received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Voya. Her third novel, Perfect Escape, was just released in July 2012. Jennifer lives in the Kansas City, Missouri area with her husband and three kids.
