Native American Literature

Graduate students at Northeastern State University have explored Native American Literature during their masters in library media. A panel will present Native American authors and a sampling of their children and young adult titles. The focus will be related to the topics of self- reliance, facing and overcoming difficult challenges, and being true to oneself. Strategies such as book trailers, reader's theaters, and poetry activities will be presented. Ties to AASL Standards will also be given.
