Programming with Technology for Toddlers to Teens

Want to use technology as a way to get kids into your library??  This workshop will highlight several easy-to-use technology tools that will draw kids into the library.

OU professor Dr. Kyungwon Koh will discuss her research on children and information creation
11:00-12:00 
Jason Gonzales, Technology Specialist with the Muskogee Public Library will introduce Scratch which is a programming language that easily creates interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art
12:00-1:00 
Lunch in-house with a chance to create your own Steampunk craft(s)
1:00-2:00 
Calypso Gilstrap, Norman High Teacher of the Year and OKSL Chair will show how to create presentations with Prezi, better known as PowerPoint on steroids
2:00-3:00 
Mark Heisel from the Noble Public Library will show how he uses easy on-line sources for film making with area teenagers.  He will also discuss the Noble Library’s Maker Mondays which is a weekly program where children gather to make something. Each month has a different theme
3:00-4:00
