Have questions about designing a building and moving in? Have you learned some lessons about the process that you want to share? Join library leaders Leslie Langley and Lisa Wells who have recently opened and/or moved to new buildings in a conversation about buildings.
Leslie Langley (right) is Branch Manager of the newly renovated and remodeled Wister Public Library, the smallest branch of the Southeastern Public Library System of Oklahoma. A librarian for over 22 years, she has learned that mountains can be moved and old buildings renovated using only donated funds and labor. Leslie has been an active OLA member, serving as President 2010/2011. She is currently chairing the Leadership Institute Committee and is the Mountain Plains Library Association Representative.
A life-long Oklahoman, Lisa Wells (left) has a twenty-five year library administration career. Wells was the driving force in revamping a redesign and renovation of Moore Public Library, bringing the library to national and 21st century standards. She continued her expertise and was instrumental on the Project Team during construction of the new Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library for Pioneer Library System, in partnership with the City of Oklahoma City. Wells is also Project Manager for the new Westside Norman Public Library, a part of the repurposing project and first time property acquisition that is currently underway for Pioneer Library System Administrative Offices.
