SRRTable - It’s a red-letter year for SRRT!
Sponsors of the annual Ruth Brown Award, the Social Responsibilities Round table, this year will host author, Louise S. Robbins. She will be available to sign her book, The Dismissal of Miss Ruth Brown.
The SRRTable provides conference attendees an opportunity to donate to the annual Ruth Brown Award by purchasing raffle tickets for an art piece.
This years’ art is provided by G. Patrick Riley, renowned mask-maker, sculptor and arts educator. The mask for the conference is to be a constructed and hand stitched fiber mask art work made with the materials of leather and copper. It will consist of a male and female mask face, one on each side of the three dimensional art work. They will be back to back. In front of the masks will be a leather stitched book. The masks and book will be painted with acrylic paints. Supporting the leather mask and leather book will be a semi circular line of copper tubing. The constructed sculpture will be about 24 inches tall or taller and set easily on a desk top.
Riley’s art graces the Oklahoma State Supreme Court with a 28 foot Eagle sculpture of stainless steel, a commissioned mask for singer, Lady Gaga, as well as installations in the Ford Center in downtown Oklahoma City and St. Gregory’s Campus in Shawnee. We are thrilled and honored to have his support.

Previous years, art and crafts have come from the SRRT committee: exquisite hand-made quilts by Dottie Brawley and Carlene Talent at the Stillwater Library, stained glass art by Phillip Fitzsimmons in Weatherford, and the popular badge holders in 2012 from Nancy Littlejohn in Norman.
With all this talent, plus Louise and Patrick’s participation--- it truly is a red-letter year for SRRT!
