Join us to hear Samantha Becker from the University of Washington Information School speak about their individual library survey developed for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Institute of Museum and Library Services which was the basis of the Opportunity for All report released in 2010. The session will include an overview of the research and planning that went into the project.
Samantha Becker, Research Manager, University of Washington Information School
Samantha Becker is the Research Manager of the U.S. IMPACT Study, a research group at the University of Washington Information School that focuses on public libraries, public access technology, and digital inclusion barriers and policy. Much of her work is aimed at helping libraries leverage data to improve outcomes for patrons and support sustainability, including developing tailored evaluation frameworks, data gathering strategies, data analysis approaches, and putting the results to work in planning and advocacy. She holds master’s degrees in Library and Information Science and Public Administration.
