Three methods of acquiring e-books will be discussed: individual purchases, subscriptions, and demand-drive acquisitions.
Anne Harris, Coordinator for Reader’s Services, Pioneer Library System, Norman
Anne Harris is the Coordinator for Reader’s Services for the Pioneer Library System, where her job responsibilities include selection of adult fiction titles for their print, non-print, and e-book collections. She has worked in the PLS Reader's Services department as a selector for 20 years.
Jaymie Turner, Serials/Electronic Resources Librarian, University of Oklahoma
Jaymie is responsible for managing the acquisitions of electronic resources, print serials, and other continuing resources. She began working in acquisitions in 2007, but got her start in libraries in 1999 working at the University of Oklahoma Libraries as a student worker in the Western History Collections while pursuing her undergraduate degree in History and continued her education, obtaining her MLIS from OU in 2006.
Cathy Blackman, Assistant Professor/Librarian, Cameron University Library
Cathy Blackman has been a librarian at Cameron University for 17 years. Her areas of responsibility include reference, instruction, acquisitions, and cataloging. As a member of OLA, she has served as secretary and chair of UCD, chair of TSRT, and chair of the Awards Committee.
