Barbara Pickthorn, MLS, MS, Assistant Library Director, Cameron University Library
She has supervised librarians and support staff in the technical and public services areas since 1976. She received a MLIS from the University of North Texas and a Master of Behavioral Sciences from Cameron University.
Lisa Wells, Assistant Director for Library Services, Pioneer Library System
A life-long Oklahoman, Lisa Wells, began a twenty-five year library administration career by advancing quickly through the ranks. She started in children’s programming, moving on to manage two public libraries, simultaneously coordinating the management of three large public library branches, and advancing to the Assistant Director for Library Services position with the Pioneer Multi-County Library System. She holds two degrees from the University of Oklahoma, a BA in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies.
Wells was the driving force in revamping a redesign and renovation of Moore Public Library, bringing the library to national and 21st century standards. She continued her expertise and was instrumental on the Project Team during construction of the new Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library for Pioneer, in partnership with the City of Oklahoma City. Wells was also the Project Manager for the new Norman Public Library West, a part of the repurposing project and first time property acquisition for Pioneer Library System Administrative Offices
Buffy Edwards, M.L.I.S, National Board Certified Teacher, Alternative Education/Library Information Specialist, Norman Public Schools
Dr. Buffy Edwards is the Library Information Specialist for Norman Public School. She serves as the School Librarian for Dimensions Academy, Norman Public Schools, and teaches online graduate courses. For 26 years, Buffy has been an energetic advocate for school libraries, active in the Oklahoma Library Association, Oklahoma School Librarians, and the American Association of School Librarians.
