The “idea” for the OLA Endowment started when leadership attendees had the vision to help find an office for the Executive Director who had been doing everything from home. After discussion and advice from leaders of the organization an account was opened with the Community Foundation of Oklahoma which took advantage of matching fund opportunities the foundation offered.  Ten years later the endowment interest fully pays for the office rental of the Executive Director! Basically, the endowment is about empowerment for librarians,” says past President Pat Weaver-Meyers. “It’s a legacy, a gift, to the future that helps ensure librarians endure and thrive.”
