Valerie KimbleValerie Kimble, MLS is a children’s librarian and storyteller.  She has written grants throughout her long career for public libraries and nonprofit organizations as both staff and volunteer.  Her grants to arts councils have funded Summer Reading programs in libraries and storytelling and art festivals in communities in Oklahoma and Texas.  She was a contributor to the Inasmuch Foundation grant that funded the Pioneer Library System’s Growing Like a Read early literacy program, and her grant to the Kerr Foundation provided seed money for OLA’s Mildred Laughlin Festival of Books for Young People.  Last year she raised over $10,000 as a volunteer grant writer, and in 2015 she increased grant income from one foundation by 175% for that nonprofit.
