PowerPoint Presentation: My Librarian (PDF)

Public libraries can provide unique value in an increasingly competitive and information-rich world with a highly personalized approach to Readers' Advisory incorporating both high tech and high touch. Through a grant from the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation to The Library Foundation, Multnomah County Library (Portland, OR) designed and piloted "My Librarian" to create personal connections with readers in a virtual space. Hear the results of the extensive research we conducted with readers in the design and evaluation of the service, what happened during the pilot and the lessons we've learned.
