Library Games is an interactive, hands-on session that illustrates how poetry, stories and wordplay can be incorporated into games that encourage library visits and participation. In the workshop, Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry director Shaun Perkins shares ideas and facilitates the creation of various games that librarians can have available for patrons.
To provide the tools and information necessary for participants to create their own library games that facilitate creativity and critical thinking.
Shaun Perkins is a teacher, writer and director of the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry, Locust Grove. She is a teaching artist with the Oklahoma Arts Council, a former Teacher of the Year, and the webmaster/liaison for the Territory Tellers, Oklahoma's state storytelling organization. Her poetry and stories have been published in numerous publications, and she has presented workshops at conferences and festivals nationwide. Her one-women show POEM LIFE continues to tour in the region.
