31, 2000 Meeting
- There was a motion and a
second for accepting the minutes, which were accepted by
consensus.
IV. Committee Reports
- A. Salary Survey.
- Report by Barbara
Bradley.
- The two-year comparison
of salaries was postponed until a later meeting date.
- B. Report on UCD Web Pages
- Report by Jon Woltz.
- Jon distributed a paper
copy of the draft version of the UCD web site,
introduced the components, and asked for input on
revisions. The major sections of information on the page
include:

- Jon reported that there
will probably be some consideration of a commercial site
for hosting the OLA web site, including other units, and
the UCD pages should be included (he is on OLA committee
to examine possible options).
- JON will temporarily
mount the draft site so people can look at it and
suggest changes.
- At the current time, UCD
minutes should be sent to Jon for placement on the web
site.
- C. Nominating Committee
- Report by Ann Blakely.
- There is now a full slate
of officers:

- Ann reported that the
slate of officers has been sent to Kay Boies, at OLA, to
go out in the bulk mailing.
- D. Conference Program A -
Buried Treasures II
- Report by Barbara
Bradley.
- Scheduled at OLA
Conference for Friday, 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.
- Barbara said that at the
current time there are no equipment requests from
participants.
- She noted that there is a
change needed on the speaker information form: Bettye
Black’s name has an "e" at the end.
- E. Statistics Program
- Scheduled at the OLA
Conference for 3:45 to 5:15 on Thursday.
- Report by Ann Blakely.
- Ann has met several times
with Lynette Earhardt and Jan Keene, who are working on
the public library component of the program.
- Sandra Austin reported to
Ann that OSLAMS is not interested in co-sponsorship of
the statistics program (thus, this program has no
co-sponsors).
- The equipment request has
been submitted.
- NOTE for both conference
programs: If the conference grid is firm after the next
OLA planning meeting, RETHA will notify Barbara and Ann
so that they can notify conference program participants.
- F. Posters and Papers
Sessions
- At OLA conference, the
posters and papers sessions are scheduled on Thursday
and Friday.
- Report by David Scott.
- David reported that the
Posters and Papers Sessions Committee is meeting
tomorrow. There has been a last-minute run of
submissions (yesterday was the deadline).
- A full report will be
made next month.
- G. Spring Workshop
- The topic is distance
learners and it is May 15, 2001 at OSU Tulsa.

- Jon reported that the
January UCD meeting in Tulsa will allow time to look
over the facilities for the workshop.
- PAT will call Beth
Freeman at OSU Tulsa to check on potential caterers
- This workshop will be
presented to the OLA Board in January (by Retha or
Carolyn Warmann). Carolyn is working on flyers.
- DAVID Scott will e-mail
Carolyn to offer assistance on the evaluation form for
the workshop.
Other Business/Announcements:
- There are several academic
positions open in the state:
- Rhonda said that SLIS has 2
faculty positions at assistant level.
- Retha noted that there is
still a systems vacancy at OKCU, and that Northeastern still
has a vacancy.
- Next meeting: January 30 at
the University of Tulsa. ANN will provide information about
parking and room location.
- The March meeting is
tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 6 (Conference is in
mid-April). The next meeting will be in the Oklahoma City
area, and RETHA will make arrangements.
