Approval of Minutes

Minutes of the November meeting were approved as written.

Committee Reports

Workshop Planning Committee
  1. Spring Workshop. Some concern has been expressed about duplication of our workshop with the OCALD workshop. The committee agreed to meet after the division meeting to work on ways to differentiate the UCD workshop on the legal issues of electronic databases from the OCALD pre-conference.
OLA Conference Planning
  1. Posters and Presentations. David Oberhelman reported that there were 15 poster sessions and 13 paper presentations. These will fit nicely into the time slots that we have.
  2. Sessions. The "buried treasure" session has been changed to a paper presentation. This presentation will spotlight several collections. Jon is still working on a commitment from the adaptive technology contacts.
Nominating Committee
Retha Robertson reported that she has a full slate of candidates. Running for Vice Chair/Chair elect are Carolyn Warmann and Ann Blakely. Running for secretary are Nancy Jurney and Rhonda Harris Taylor.
Electronic Communication Committee
The minutes are being posted to the web site. Jon is sending meeting notices and minutes to the OLA list.

Sites for upcoming meetings
Next meeting is set for Tuesday, January 11 at 1:30 PM in a yet to be determined metro OKC location. Watch your email for the place. [The meeting date has been changed to January 18. - Woltz]
College Preparation
Sheila Johnson raised the idea of developing formal relations with school library media specialists to help prepare high school students for college success in areas of research. Also with many libraries having high school classes coming into the library, we need a common foundation of instruction. This would help develop information literary skills. The division took this under advisement for a future meeting.

Meeting adjourned with no objection.

Respectfully submitted,
David A. Scott
