Paper and poster sessions - 14 poster and 10 paper submissions have been received. On Wednesday November 20, the committee will meet to assign slots. Question: do people who just present a paper or poster need to pay for attending the conference?
Buried Treasures - These people need to be contacted: Brad Robinson of the Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism; Wendy Mahsetsky-Poolaw of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art; and Marilyn Ogilvie of the History of Science Collections at the University of Oklahoma.
Faculty Relations - Paperwork sent in and ready.
Library Interior Design - Annie Busch from the Springfield-Green County Library in Missouri will be the keynote speaker. Carolyn will present information on the basic concepts of feng shui and its application to the library setting. A panel from various libraries around the state will talk about the redesign/redecorating efforts at their library. (Potential panel members: Sherry Young, Joan Singleton, Carolyn Hust, and Barbara King.) The keynote speaker and panel guests will be asked to bring pictures of their library. The pre-conference will be from 1:00-4:00 pm Wednesday. Carolyn will find out how much we can pay Annie (stipend, food, milage).
Marketing Your Library - Bonnie and Scott are set to speak for approximately 25 minutes each. Then there will be a question and answer time. Both principles and procedures for marketing will be covered in the session.
IV. Workshop updates
GODORT would like to co-sponsor the workshop with UCD. Ideally, the workshop would be conducted in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Topics we would like to see covered: developing a course to teach the faculty on your campus, digital copyright (web, electronic reserves), ILL, case law on copyright, and the law as opposed to the guidelines. Once a speaker has been confirmed, a committee will be formed to handle local arrangements.
V. H.323 potential for meetings
Melissa will look into how many sites can be connected during a session. During the next meeting we will consult a map of Oklahoma to determine potential sites for hook-ups to the meeting. This format may be tried for the April 2003 UCD meeting.
VI. Adjournment was at 3:00 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Cathy Blackman
