Approval of Minutes

Minutes of the September meeting were approved as written

Committee Reports

Workshop Planning Committee

1. Fall Workshop wrap-up. The evaluations received were quite favorable. 29 out of 40 were returned.
2. Spring Workshop. OCALD is planning to sponsor a pre-conference on database licensing, our topic for our Spring Workshop. The UCD agreed to continue plans for its workshop as we hope to have a different focus for our workshop. The Stillwater Public Library is scheduled for March 9. Ed Johnson has agreed to deliver the keynote address on UCITA. Tamara Stansfield from the OSU library has also agreed to speak on contract wording. We will also have vendor representatives and perhaps someone from ODL. We will also contact someone at the Public Library Division for someone from the public library side of things.
   

 

OLA Conference Planning

1. Posters and Presentations. David Oberhelman reported via E-mail. He said he would contact folks who gave oral promises to present. He expects more to come in as deadline approaches (Nov. 19) Jon agreed to email membership about deadline as well.
2. Sessions. Adaptive technology in libraries. Web site design and ADA. Jon will work on for next meeting. Another session was "buried treasures" in archives. Sheila will contact some people about this topic.

 

Nominating Committee

Jon gave Retha a roster of UCD members for her to contact for office.

 

Salary Survey Committee

Email from Barbara Bradley. Survey complete. 26 surveys returned from 51 that were sent. Median salary was $26,000; average $26,482; Minimum $20,000; Maximum $36,000.

 

Electronic Communication Committee

The minutes are being posted to the web site.

 

Other Business

Sites for upcoming meetings

1. November meeting at OKCC. Tuesday, November 16, 1999 at 1:30.
2. December meeting at the Stillwater Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999 at 1:30. Jon and Dave plan to have lunch at Eskimo Joe's. Feel free to join us about 11:30. Maybe this will increase attendance.
