Creating with Scratch

Date: April 5, 2013
Time: 4:00 p.m.
Sponsors: Information Technology Roundtable, Public Library Division, Oklahoma School Library Division, University and College Division

Explore the world of Scratch which fosters creativity in youth. Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art. As young people create and share Scratch projects, they learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

Jason Gonzales has been the technology specialist for the Muskogee Public Library for 14 years. In addition to conducting technology classes for the public, he created a technology camp for youth that introduced them to game programming using Scratch and creating their own digital videos.
