Common Core: What's the Library Got To Do With It?

Date: April 4, 2013
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Sponsor: Oklahoma School Librarians

As champions of information literacy, reading, and critical thinking, K-12 librarians are key players in helping schools and classroom teachers implement the new Common Core State Standards. The emphasis on literacy and the use of primary sources in all subject areas positions the librarian to serve as the resource expert across all grade levels. This program will give practical ideas and examples of how librarians can use this opportunity to highlight their value as information specialists and key players within the school system.

Speaker: Tara Hixon
