Join us as we investigate scenarios ripped from today’s headlines to expose the ethical and legal ramifications of ever-advancing library technologies.

Ellen RubensteinEllen Rubenstein, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, School of Library and Information Studies, University of Oklahoma

Ellen Rubenstein is an Assistant Professor at the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma. She teaches classes in digital information ethics, reference, information behavior, and introduction to information studies. Her research centers on health information and health literacy, including how individuals go about finding and using health information, as well as how public libraries can facilitate these activities.

Jennifer Prilliman, Head of Reference Services, Oklahoma City University Law Library

Jennifer PrillimanJennifer has a B.A. from the University of Central Oklahoma; a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma; and a M.L.I.S. from the University of Oklahoma. Jennifer Prilliman joined the Oklahoma City University Law library in August 2010. Her research interests include legal information literacy and instruction, copyright law, open access, and ethics.  While in graduate school she was as an officer for the library student association, served on the School of Library and Information Studies’ curriculum committee, and was selected to present a paper at the Oklahoma Library Association annual conference. Prior to entering the M.L.I.S. program she taught advanced placement and college preparatory courses at a college preparatory charter school in Oklahoma City. While in law school she was a member of the Jessup moot court team, topic editor for the Oklahoma Journal of Law and Technology, member of the Board of Advocates. She is an active member in the Oklahoma Bar Association. Jennifer is the vice-chair for the Law Day committee and a member of the Bar Technology and Access to Justice committees. She is also a member of the American Association of Law Libraries.
