Melody Kellogg, Manager, Edmond Public Library, Metropolitan Library System

Melody currently works as manager of the state’s busiest public library in Edmond as part of the Metropolitan Library System serving Oklahoma County and Oklahoma City. Her eclectic career includes 13 years with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce’s Main Street Program followed by 11 years with the City of Guthrie and a two-year “sabbatical” in ministry. Her skills and experience include training, planning, writing and administrating grants, budgeting, managing, organizational development for non-profits, and municipal administration.

Samantha Stewart, Guthrie Public Library

Samantha StewartSamantha Stewart started her career at the Guthrie Public Library as a volunteer at the age of fourteen. Four years later, she joined the staff as a part-time employee while earning her Bachelors in Applied Liberal Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma. In 2005, Samantha helped start the library's very successful teen program with a Harry Potter Party attended by thirty-six teens. Samantha is now the library's Children’s Programmer, but working in a small library like Guthrie, she is part of a team that does it all--reference, cataloging, circulation, interlibrary loans, and shelving. Samantha loves her job!

Candy Ford, Assistant Director, Guthrie Public Library

Candy FordIn her position as Assistant Director of the Guthrie Public Library, Candy Ford's main responsibilities are collection development, readers’ advisory and reference services. Candy has been a crucial part of this municipal library since she was 16 and a part-time employee. She has run circulation and shelved every item in the library many times. In 2005, Candy co-founded a very successful teen program with a Harry Potter Party attended by thirty-six teens. The staff joke is that when she dies, they are going to prop her up at the front desk to continue helping patrons, because she is such a vital part of the library.

Melody Palmer, Sapulpa Public Library

Melody PalmerMelody Palmer received her MLIS in May 2013 in self-defense. She has been bombarded with requests from friends about what to read next for years; most of them were thrilled with the recommendations. Becoming a librarian has been one of the smartest things she’s ever done because it combined a lifetime love of reading with helping others find books they love.

Kimberly Ann Edwards, Librarian, Metropolitan Library System

Kimberly is a librarian in the Metropolitan Library system, with an emphasis on Young Adult services. Kimberly has been working for MLS for 15 years in June.  She loves comics and has been collecting them for a few decades.  Because of this love for comics, she estimates owning over 5,000 comics.
