Images of Oklahoma: Year 2

Session Description

More than thirty organizations have participated in the Images of Oklahoma project to date. Learn from their experiences, see what's new, find out how to participate and hear plans to include this project in the Digital Public Library of America.

Session Objective

  1. Provide a status report on a statewide digitization project.
  2. Encourage the participation of additional libraries in the project.
  3. Share information about Oklahoma's possible inclusion in the Digital Public Library of America.

Jan Davis

As the Administrative Archivist for the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Jan Davis manages the State Archives, which houses the permanent records of state government dating back to statehood. Jan is also the Coordinator of the Oklahoma Historical Records Advisory Board, which works to provide resources and support for Oklahoma libraries, archives and museums that hold historical records collections. She has master's degrees in Library and Information Studies and Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. She is a Certified Records Manager and a Certified Archivist.

Kitty Pittman

Kitty Pittman is the Oklahoma Department of Libraries' Administrative Librarian for the Office of Library Resources & Digital Collections. She has been a librarian for forty years. She still believes in the power of bibliographic metadata and openly accessible information.
