Foresight: Peering Into the Future to Make Better Library Decisions Today

Monday, April 23, 2018
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Please note that pre-conferences require separate registration and are not part of the conference registration.

The decisions we make in our libraries today help to create the futures our libraries will face tomorrow. By adopting evidence-based approaches that are informed by consideration of possible future scenarios, library leaders can better position their libraries for a successful future while minimizing the risks that may emerge over time. In this pre-conference, participants will be introduced to foundational concepts of futures thinking and foresight that can be incorporated into strategic planning and will be coached on the development and use of scenarios.
