Mapping the Dreamland: Creating interactive Content for the Classroom

The presenters will show the audience how to use Esri's Story Map software to create interactive presentations, including a demonstration of the software's capabilities and uses. As an example, we will share a presentation we created based on the novel Dreamland Burning by Jennifer Latham, which will be useful to teachers and librarians as a tool for teaching students about the Tulsa Race Riots.

Kevin Dyke


Kevin Dyke is Maps and Spatial Data Curator at Oklahoma State University's Edmon Low Library. He earned his Master's degree in geography from the University of Minnesota. He oversees the Oklahoma Digital Maps Collection, which is home to nearly 9,000 maps, and also teaches workshops about web mapping and geographic information systems.



Rebecca Weber


Rebecca Weber is the Education and Teaching Librarian at Oklahoma State University. She holds a B.A. in English Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma. Her research interests include accessibility and the intersection of curriculum with student experience.
