Government Documents Cataloging Survey

Wednesday, April 25, 2018
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Directors Row 4

Oklahoma State University's Edmon Low Library is a regional government documents depository, and so has kept all Government Printing Office documents, with approximately a million titles in their Federal collections. Currently, they are retrospectively cataloging these pre-1976 documents. They sent out a survey to U.S. regional government depository libraries, asking about whether these libraries are cataloging or plan to catalog their pre-1976 documents. If not, how do they provide access to these materials? Are they organized by SUDOCS number? Also, they asked about what type of staff are doing the cataloging, and about how bound monographic series are handled. The OSU librarians will analyze the survey results and discuss them.
