OLA 2015: Technical Services Issues When Migrating to New Library Systems

Pauline Rodriguez-Atkins, Manager, Cataloging & Interlibrary LoanMetropolitan Library System, Ila M. Grice Coffman, Serials Cataloger, University of Oklahoma Libraries and Jay Criswell, Technical Services Supervisor, Stillwater Public Library will speak about migration issues associated with migrating to a new library system.

Pauline Rodriguez-AtkinsPauline Rodriguez-Atkins is Manager for Cataloging and Interlibrary Loan at the Metropolitan Library System.  She is lucky enough to work with an amazing team who do a great job at getting library materials to customers.  She is a respected trainer in the areas of RDA, Dewey classification, and cataloging.  She has presented several workshops and sessions on these topics at TSRT workshops and other events.

Pauline shares her home with her fellow cataloger husband, Parker Atkins, and a large card catalog cabinet.  In her spare time, she collects Coca-Cola memorabilia and looks for a creative outlet by exploring various types of handicrafts.

Jay CriswellJay Criswell has worked in cataloging and technical services at Stillwater Public Library since 2000.

Ila CoffmanIla Coffman is the Serials Cataloger at the University of Oklahoma (OU) Libraries. During her tenure at OU, Ila has been involved in 3 systems migrations.  During the most recent migration in 2013/2014/2015, she served as chair of the Libraries’ selection team and the implementation team.

Ila is a member of several profession associations.  She has served in a variety of Oklahoma Library Association (OLA) offices, including 2013 Program Chair and 2007 Local Arrangements Co-Chair, and a variety of committees.  Ila holds a Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor’s of Education from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

Ila enjoys reading, embroidery and other fabric related projects.  She belongs to a book discussion group at her local public library and has a long term project to read all Newbery Medal and Honor Books, 1922 to present.
