Assessment of the One-Shot
11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Sponsored by UCD

Session Description

This OLA session will provide an overview of how Cameron University applies assessment to its information literacy program which is comprised solely of one-shot sessions. The first part of the OLA session will include how to create outcomes that are student focused and use action verbs from Bloom's taxonomy. Then the presenters will discuss aligning those outcomes to the class content, institution's mission, and ACRL's Information Literacy Competency Standards/Framework for Information Literacy. Afterwards, the presenters will discuss how to create and distribute brief measures (i.e. questions) that align with the created outcomes. They will also discuss the importance of validity and reliability and offer tips for establishing face validity and inter-rater reliability. Finally, the presenters will offer a brief explanation of how the measures are scored and presented to the institution.

Session Objective
