Session Description

School libraries are increasingly losing funding which correlates to a loss of resources for students. Learn how this has worked successfully benefiting both the school and the public library from librarians who have been there.

Session Objective

To create and to foster relationships between the school and public libraries that benefit both organizations in terms of patrons and public relations.

Charlotte Nance is a National Board Certified Librarian with 24 years of experience in school libraries and is currently Librarian of the Minnie R. Slief Public Library in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, her childhood library.  Charlotte holds a BA in English from Oklahoma State University and an MS in school library from Fort Hays State University.  Charlotte is presenting this session from both sides and sharing the benefits she gained in so doing.
