Session Description

The program provides tips, strategies, and ideas on locating quality Spanish materials for public libraries. Discover information, small distributors and the importance of international book fairs.

Session Objective

To help librarians around Oklahoma navigate the Spanish materials market and make it seem less intimidating.

Elizabeth Negrete Gaylor currently works as the Literacy Coordinator for the Ardmore Public Library. In addition to running the digital literacy program at APL, she handles Spanish materials selection for the Spanish collection.  She is involved in the Texas Library Association as Chair of the Latino Caucus, Marketing Committees for Oklahoma Library Association and REFORMA, and is a recent ALA Spectrum Scholar. Elizabeth has served in various capacities to help select honor books for the International Latino Book Award, Tomas Rivera Book Award, and the Tejas Star Book List.
