Sponsor: Endowment Committee

Date: Monday, April 24
Time: 9:00-12:30 pm
Location: Salon G

Pre-conference description:

Hear the latest trends in library renovations, redesigns and new construction from architects and designers who are leading the revolution. Matt Kruntorad, Kristilyn Vercruysse, Leanne Larson and Greta Foster, all members of the Minneapolis-based firm, MSR Design, will address several aspects of new building and renovation projects. The framework for their presentation will be finding the design that fits your community, the role of the librarian, and how things are changing to adapt to the 21st Century.

Cap off your pre-conference experience with a tour and conversations with librarians who have led recent renovations. Choose your passion: for the K-12 interest, tour the new Norman school libraries with Kathryn Lewis and Norman Public Schools librarians; for an academic focus, see transformative renovations to OU libraries and chat with OU faculty; or for public libraries, tour the Norman West library, hear about two upcoming Norman branches with Lisa Wells and discuss a recent renovation with Lynn McIntosh. This day of learning will allow you to better understand trends in library design and to experience area libraries that have undergone transformative change through renovation.

Most recently, Matt has led planning and constituent outreach to ensure that the architectural design reflects and promotes the client’s mission. A registered architect and principal of the firm, Matt has 20 years of professional experience and has been with MSR since 2003. He has worked on a wide variety of project types, including cultural facilities, park buildings, office space, higher education facilities, and libraries.
