Ways to Market Without Social Media: Where Are They When They Aren’t Online
Sponsor: Marketing Committee

Date: Tuesday, April 25
Time: 1:30-2:30 pm
Location: Salon I

Session Description:
Many libraries may not have a social media presence, or policies may not allow them to have or control their own social media. This presentation will discuss a variety of ideas and ways to market the library, resources, and programs without any social media presence. Time will be reserved at the end of the session for a sharing of ideas, as well as a discussion of successes and failures of marketing ideas.

April MillerApril K. Miller, and Assistant Professor at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, works as the Sayre Campus Librarian, and Campus & Community Outreach Coordinator for SWOSU libraries. She holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and an M.L.I.S. from the University of Oklahoma. April has been very active in OLA for over ten years. She has served on various committees, roundtables, and divisions through her time in OLA, but has continually been a presence on the Marketing Committee, even serving as chair for two years. Marketing libraries is one of April’s passions. She loves to help others spread the word of their library by guiding them through the tricky world of marketing and design.
